WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Many have asked if there are some "small" things they can do to help CRAHDI.  I want you to know that there are a multitude of "small" things that you can do...here are a few:

1.  Write an article for the newsletter.

2.  Gather names and contact information of others in our career field.

3.  Gather names and contact information from organizations that might be interested in coming to the symposiums held throughout the year in North Carolina and South Carolina. This could include colleges and hospitals as well as clinics in your hometown. This information could be given to CRAHDI so we could email registration forms to other medical transcriptionists or students.

4.  Acquire door prizes throughout the year to bring to the symposiums.

5.  Help send thank you cards to those who have contributed or donated to our symposiums.

6.  Give input as to what you would like to learn at our next symposium.

These are just a few ideas. Maybe some of you have loftier ideas but just do not know how to get involved or where to start. At this point I would say Paula Hoover, our delegate, has so much information she would be more than happy to share. I bet she even has some "tasks" available to help with, which would only enhance your learning. CRAMT is an organization that needs people to be involved. There are legislature issues with Lobby Days, there are articles as well as online courses offered by AHDI.  There are guidelines and manuals about roles in the component associations available from AHDI also.

So maybe you are not exactly ready to jump in right this minute, then how about grooming yourself for a position. Start looking into those manuals and information available. Sure things can get hectic around the end of the year for CRAMT because of the November symposium, but the rest of the year is not quite as rushed and there is plenty of time to get involved all year long in various aspects of the organization.
